چکیده

Coal deposits can provide novel stratigraphic markers for reconstructing the evolution history of a sedimentary basin and correlating successions. Age dating was conducted on zircons harvested from No. 6 coal seam within Heidaigou Mine, Inner Mongolia. Two-kilogram samples were taken, recovered analyzed U–Pb isotopic rare earth elements (REE). The REE results zircon grains showed that all enriched in heavy (HREE) but depleted light (LREE). In addition, had strongly positive Ce (Ce/Ce* = 2.4–224.6) negative Eu anomalies (Eu/Eu* 0.1–0.6). Combined with clear oscillatory zones cathodoluminescence images, characteristic magmatic origins. 206Pb/238U ages 34 produced narrow age population 303–286 Ma, weighted average 293.0 ± 1.5 Ma (mean-squared deviation 1.5). Therefore, we infer Mine deposited during Early Permian, Carboniferous–Permian boundary should be located stratigraphically lower than coal. geochronology is useful tool to determine depositional non-marine-influenced

Geochemical Characteristics of Trace Elements in the No. 6 Coal Seam from the Chuancaogedan Mine, Jungar Coalfield, Inner Mongolia, China

Fourteen samples of No. 6 coal seam were obtained from the Chuancaogedan Mine, Jungar Coalfield, Inner Mongolia, China. The samples were analyzed by optical microscopic observation, X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscope equipped with an energy-dispersive X-ray spectrometer (SEM-EDS), inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) and X-ray fluorescence spectrometry (XRF) ...

Leaching Behavior and Potential Environmental Effects of Trace Elements in Coal Gangue of an Open-Cast Coal Mine Area, Inner Mongolia, China

In order to better understand the role of coal gangue in potential environmental and ecological risks, the leaching behavior of trace elements from coal gangue has been investigated in an open-cast coal mine, Inner Mongolia, China. Four comparative column leaching experiments were conducted to investigate the impacts of leaching time, pH values and sample amount on the leaching behavior of trac...

Early Permian coal-forming floras preserved as compressions from the Wuda District (Inner Mongolia, China)

Four different compression/impression floras are preserved in only 4.32 m of the geologic section in the Early Permian Shanxi Formation of the Wuda District of Inner Mongolia, northwestern China. These floras represent four different plant communities and landscapes that followed each other in time. The oldest flora was rooted in sandy clay and initiated peat accumulation that lead to the forma...
